Picture Detective

Your job is to answer the question by looking at the picture which will be more and more clear with time. If you can spot it quickly, you get more points. If you have to wait till the very end you get no points.

You can stop the timer and guess at any time. If you get it wrong, the timer will continue an you can try again later.

UPPER or lower case does not matter when you type in the answer and some spelling mistakes are allowed.

How to earn more awards

You can get a 50 coins award for completing the tutorial.
You can get a 100 coins award for signing in properly.
When you finish a job with perfect results you get a 100 coins reward.
When you collect your first 10,000 miles you get a 75 coins reward.
When you collect your first 50,000 miles you get a 150 coins reward.
When you collect your first 100,000 miles you get a 500 coins reward.

About this game

Around The World is an online game experiment built by Peter Bengtsson.

The inspiration for this game was a game I used to play when I was a kid called Backpacker that I loved because it combined both fun and learning something. This game doesn't try to copy that game but is definitely inspired by it.

My job is a Web Developer at Mozilla but this game is my weekend project that I work on to learn how to build a fun and interactive game. Because it's something I do for fun I only have time to add the features I personally find most enjoying to play and to develop.

All questions I write myself from reading Wikipedia articles or just from stuff I happen to know. My goal is to make it possible to have people playing the game to contribute questions and pictures.
